So last night, in a slightly crazed fashion, I decided to make 2 pies. The crazed part was starting at almost 11 pm and staying up until almost 4 to get it all done. But I really wanted to end the year at R&H by giving the UPieTT (Unofficial Pie Taste Testers) a couple of pies to try. I was also trying to make it through some of the stuff in the fridge before leaving for 3 weeks.

These pies aren't as pretty since they don't have a top crust, and it's still a mystery to me how they taste, but the first was a Sweet Potato Pie, my first in a pre-baked pie crust:


And then the Cranberry Pear with a Pecan Crumble Topping. (Although in the cookbook I have I think this is called Very Cranberry Pear). Hopefully this one is good!
